Greg Mickelson

Furthering his decades-long career as a respected business leader, Greg Mickelson joined Standish Executive Search to continue his work with business owners and executives, focused on the recruitment and retention of the right leaders to drive accelerated growth, change, or succession for their organizations.

More About Greg

Greg earned his BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Summa Cum Laude from the University of Connecticut. He was awarded his MBA, with concentration in finance and entrepreneurship from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY.

In the early years of his career, through a 13-year succession of large corporation responsibilities at Procter & Gamble and General Electric, Greg developed a reputation leading successes in product development, technology, engineering, operations, marketing and business development.

For the following 13 years he worked with the owners of a $180 million family-held components manufacturer in roles including President, COO and Board member to transform and accelerate the growth of the business, eventually leading the company’s exit positioning and successful divestiture.

Greg then assumed the Presidency of the multi-location US subsidiary of an international components manufacturer, and subsequently a supplier to the auto industry transforming, growing and then leading both organizations to effective ownership transitions.

In 2007, he formed the Mickelson Company LLC, a business advisory firm through which he advised his CEO clients in developing their strategies, operations, markets, organizations and results.

Through the development and deployment of strategy, capital, and people Greg has improved operations, and expanded sales, markets, and profitability. At the core of his successes Greg honed his expertise to select the right people, design organizations, shape high-performance customer-centric cultures, and build effective leadership and employee teams – an expertise he now brings to Standish and its clients.

Outside of work, in addition to his commitments to family and to personal fitness Greg Mickelson has been committed to his communities. Most recently as Board President of the Boys and Girls Club of New Haven he guided the organization’s transformation to operational and financial sustainability.

Greg and his wife reside in Guilford, Connecticut.
